Portugal’s Minister of Agriculture and the Sea presents "The Portuguese National Ocean Strategy 2013-2020"
Over a working breakfast at the Portuguese Embassy in London, Portugal´s Minister of Agriculture and the Sea, Ms Assunção Cristas, presented the "Portuguese National Ocean Strategy 2013-2020" and its development model for the "Blue Economy" to a group of select investors and researchers. Portuguese Chamber’s Gala Dinner 2014
Over 150 guests hear Portugal’s Minister of Economy speak on Portugal’s recovery plan
Following the Euromoney Portugal Conference, held earlier in the day and supported by the Chamber, the Chamber’s Gala Dinner took place at 7.30pm in the Millennium Mayfair Hotel in London’s Grosvenor Square.
Attended by 150+ guests from leading Portuguese and British companies, our Guest of Honour and Principal Speaker was Dr. António Pires de Lima, currently Portugal’s Minister of Economy. He was accompanied by his Secretary of State Dr. Leonardo Mathias and we also welcomed other leading business figures from Portugal’s highest profile companies, among them EDP, Caixa Geral de Depósitos, EFACEC, and Santander Totta. Other guests included directors from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Goldman Sachs and the European Commission (Competition Directorate).

Amorim Cork Composites holds Product Showcase at Portuguese Embassy
The home wares division of soon-to-be Chamber members Amorim, Portugal’s world-leading cork manufacturer, has recently launched a new design series of household items using cork in innovative ways. Among the consumer products on show at the Embassy and viewed by an invited audience of top retail buyers were wine insulators, bowls, tea pots and kitchen implements designed in a new and bold way. This new range is now represented in the UK by Homearama who are now selling the products in to the UK’s leading independent homeware stores.

Portuguese Chamber showcases top wines at international Chambers event.
At the Connaught Rooms in central London, the Chamber team today joined 12 other international Chambers at a major wine tasting event to showcase country wines from as far afield as Japan (sake), Macedonia, Argentina and Mexico (reds and whites) with delicious wines closer to home from Austria, Spain and France, among others. Portuguese wines were supplied by our (soon-to-be) Chamber members Atlantico UK Ltd, the UK’s largest importer of Portuguese-branded products consumed by the 600,000+ Portuguese currently living in the UK.

Taste Portugal London launches culinary food fest in the capital
Taste Portugal London today held its launch press conference at the Portuguese-owned Notting Hill Kitchen in London’s Notting Hill, where award-winning Portuguese chef Luis Baena is the driving culinary force. The Taste Portugal London team have organised an impressive series of culinary events in London (and outside) to showcase Portugal’s foodie skills and chefs – and major British chefs like Angela Hartnett from London’s Murano restaurant are lending their support. 2015 Portuguese Food Exporters & Importers Networking Dinner
On Monday, 23rd of March, The Portuguese Chamber, in partnership with the British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in Portugal, organized a dinner for 65+ guests to honour some of Portugal’s leading specialist food exporters and importers who were attending the International Food and Drink Event, held at London’s Excel from 22nd to the 25th of March.
