The next CPE dinner event which will take place on the 20th April 2016, at 7.30 pm, at The Connaught Hotel, Carlos Place, Mayfair, London W1K 2AL.
The guest speaker at the dinner will be Carlos Gomes da Silva, Galp, CEO, who will address the subject "My language is my homeland” How can the language or cultural profile support a business strategy?

About Mr Carlos Gomes da Silva
Mr. Gomes da Silva was appointed CEO of Galp Energia in 2015, having previously served on the board of directors since 2007 and having overseen the company’s operations within the gas sector. During the same period he held the position of director in Amorim Energia and Amorim Investimentos Energéticos.
Before joining Galp Energia, he undertook several executive roles at Unicer as a member of the board of directors between 2006 and 2007, and at the Américo Amorim group between April 2007 and May 2008.
Between 2003 and 2007, he served as president of the Portuguese Association of Manufacturers of Spring and Natural Mineral Water, and vice president of the National Association of Industries of Soft Drinks and Fruit Juices between 2005 and 2007.
Carlos holds a Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Oporto University and an MBA from ESADE Business School in Barcelona.
His professional career has a longstanding link with the Oil and Gas industry, having joined Galp Energia/ Petrogal in the early 90s, where he held various management positions and led several departments such as Refining Operations, Supply and Trading, Planning & Control and Strategy.
